Hiroko Nakamura, a Japanese pianist, passed away on July 26th 2016.
Due to this sad news, PTNA canceled the Chopin Special Seminar on October 10th, which was supposed to have Prof.Nakamura as the special lecturer.
As a pianist, she had been very active in playing across the world. She also served as an educator, jury members of major international competitions, and a chief jury member of the Hamamatsu international Piano Competition for several years.
Last March, she appeared as a lecturer at the Hamamatsu International Piano Academy, and taught young pianists and teachers with impressive sounds and words. Her strong belief, devotion, and passion to the music was infinite even in hard times. This is why we asked her to bring her strong messages to young pianists, and both participants and audience were so much anticipating to see her in October.
Her achievement and contribution to the music world in Japan was tremendous. We would like to pay tribute once again to her great works and spirit. R.I.P.
