Two Grand Prize Winners performed in Vienna!

Two Grand Prize Winners, Tomoyo Umemura (2010) and Nozomu Sugawara(2012) performed in Vienna on April 7th. (Liszt-Saal, Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien). The concert was full of audience, and enthusiastic applause was given to two Japanese young talents.
Sugawara played Wagner=Liszt ?Isoldes Liebestod?, Mussorgsky's ? Tableaux d' une exposition ?, etc with virtuosic technique and dynamism in music. Prof.Martin Hughes who adjudicated in 2012 PTNA piano competition was at the audience, and praised his development.
Tomoyo Umemura, studying at Universität der Künste Berlin since last April, interpreted Haydn's Sonata Hob.XVI:32, two pieces from Albeniz's "Iberia", and Schumann's ?Carnaval?, in which she showed variety of expressions in each storytelling. *Interview with Ms.Umemura, talking about the study with Prof.K.Hellwig.
This concert was realized at the suggestion and cooperation of Mrs.Kazuko Jankovsky Inukai (PTNA authorized member) who live in Vienna. She is one of the keen readers of PTNA online journal and she herself occasionally write about the education in Austria, interviews to Austrian artists (e.g. Interview with Ingolf Wunder) and professors.
