What is the thing that we always see in the classic music concerts? Yes, program notes! Then, how to write it properly? This might be one of the questions that many musicians had once asked to themselves.
PTNA is pleased to introduce serial articles vol.1-4 about program note writing by Atsushi Oyamada, a music writer. In the vol.1, he defines three basic components of program notes; information of the composer, background information of music and composition, and basic analysis of the music. Oyamada believes it important to think about the each one of the audience who read those notes, and to consider how he could make them better understood and more interested in the music. He continues his articles to discuss how to make effective delivery of the words and messages in the program notes.
He will give lecture on May 18th in Tokyo. Students are also all welcome!
