A Seminar on Required Repertoires of Mozart Music Competition 2012
The 16th Japan Mozart Music Competition junior section will be held in the beginning of 2012. Prior to the competition, a special seminar of required repertoires will be held on September 21st. Three renowned professors specialized in research of Mozart will give lectures;
Bin EBISAWA (Chief Director of Japan Mozart Research Institute), Kikuko OGURA(Professor of Tokyo University of fine arts and music, faculty of early instruments) and Yasumi TAKI (PTNA councilor, Lecturer of Showa Academia Musicae).
Federico Colli, the 1st prize winner of Mozart International Competition in Salzburg 2011, will be invited as a special guest performer.
Junior Section is divided into three age groups; (1) under 3rd grade of elementary school, (2) under 6th grade, and (3) under 3rd grade of junior high school. (1) category will only be required to play solo pieces, but category (2) shall play duo and category (3) will play trio at the final stage. The string players who will join the final stage are Sakurako Waseda (vn.) and Ken Sakurai (vc.), who will also appear in the special seminar in September.
