Programs for 5th Yasuko Fukuda Scholarship Audition
The 5th Yasuko Fukuda Scholarship Audition will be held from August 23rd to 26th in Tokyo. 9 candidates will take lessons by three international juries each and play 30 minutes recital at the final concert. International juries this year are Prof. Alexander Braginsky, Prof.William Grant Naboré and Prof. Katarzyna Popowa-Zydron. 9 candidates are already chosen among 32 applicants through document screening last March. Lessons and concert will be held at Ueno Gakuen University.

This audition is established in 2002 to discover young outstanding talents under 17, according to the last wishes of the founder of PTNA. 'The Yasuko Fukuda Prize' is the scholarship of 1 million yen, which is advised to use for studying abroad. The past winners are Shohei Sekimoto (4th prize at 2005 Chopin International Competition in Warsaw), Rina Sudo (5th at 2006 Dublin International Competition), Matthew Law and Tomoki Sakata (invited by Kremlin Music Festival). Other high prize winners, including Hibiki Tamura(1st at 2007 Long-Thibaud International Competition), are also studying abroad, invited by music festivals, participating international competitions, taking follow-up lessons by renowned overseas professors.->details *photo: Yasuko Fukuda Audition in 2009
