Now, let us review some concerts in the season 2010-2011. Ichiro KANEKO, the grand prize winner of PTNA piano competition 2005, appeared on the very first edition of this series. He played Couperin's Pieces of clavecin, Bartok's Szabadban, etc and had a big applause from the audience. Hironao SUZUKI, a special prize winner of the 12th Tchaikovsky International Piano Competition, played Russian music including a fugue of Rachmaninov (Japan premiere) (video). A scholar specialized in Russian music, Fumiko ICHIYANAGI gave brief introduction of Rachmaninov.  Yusuke KIKUCHI, studied in the Conservatoire de Paris, introduced a variety of French music including Koechlin and Chausson, whereas Rieko NEZU (finalist of 15th Chopin International Competition) played Chopin and Paderewski, after her extended study and research in Poland (video).

Repertoires and instruments are up to pianists' choice. Asuka MATSUMOTO featured music for children such as Takekuni HIRAYOSHI, a Japanese composer. Genzo TAKEHISA played Bach and Beethoven with a clavichord that he brought.

The uniqueness of this concert series is that it has no fixed admission fee, but each member of the audience decides how much to pay. Honararium fee for pianists is paid on the basis of the whole admission income. The highest income in the first season was about 2,500yen on average per person (5/23 Rieko Nezu). In the new collaboration with Senkawa Avenue hall next year, the admission fee will be pre-fixed.
