Regulations for grade superior at 2011 PTNA Piano Competition announced
The regulations for grade superior at the 35th PTNA Piano Competition is announced.
There will be three rounds; the 1st round (June-July), the 2nd round (August 4th-5th), the semi-final round for solo recital (August 18th) and the final round for concerto (August 21st). Those who do not fulfill the prerequisites must to take the live preaudition in May.
Here is the regulations for the year 2011:
Note: Programme should include the pieces of Baroque, Roman and Modern period, apart from the required repertoires suggested as (1) to (5).
-1st round:
Programme should be between 15-25min, and the following works (1 & 2) must be included.
(1) One etude by Liszt, Debussy, Scriabin, Rachmaninov, Bartok, Stravinsky, Szymanowsky, Prokofiev, Ligeti.
(2) One or a few movements from the Sonata by Haydn, W.A.Mozart, Beethoven.
-2nd round:
Programme should be between 20 - 35min, and the following work (3) must be included. Programme in the 1st round should not be repeated.
(3) One work from Chopin's Etude Op.10 or Op.25
-Semi-Final Round:
Programme should be between 45-55min, and the following works (4 & 5) must be included. Programme in the previous rounds can be repeated, but should not exceed the half of the total performance time.
(4) One or a few movements from the Sonata by Haydn, W.A.Mozart, Beethoven.
(5) One Japanese composition (published work)
-Final Round:
One piano concerto should be chosen from the following listed repertoires. Performance is accompanied by Tokyo City Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Chikara IWAMURA.
