How to be an Agent of Other Piano Competitions?
PTNA takes a role of an agent of other local piano competition in Japan, apart from their own (PTNA Piano Competition), by launching a service which allows participants of other competitions to make application procedures through PTNA website.
So far, three local competitions join this parnership: Miki-Gakki Fresh Piano Concert-Competition (Osaka/ pre-school kids to junior high school students), Aichi Piano Competition (Aichi /elementary school pupils to college students & adult), Nakatsu An Die Musik Piano Competition (Ohita). Other competitions are also expected to participate.
Those applicants would obtain one "stage point" at the time of the application.
Stage point is normally given to the participants of PTNA Piano Competition and PTNA Piano STEP to record how many times they make the public performances. Now this point system is also adapted to those new partners. When those applicants obtain certain amount of point (5,10,15,20 points..), they will also be entitled to receive 'the award for continuous study' if they join PTNA Piano STEP, likewise the applicants of PTNA Piano Competition.
"Competition is not for competing against other people, but rather competing to oneself" (Prof.Hideo Sugiura). This new partnership should be meaningful in regards that students can make advantage of multiple opportunities to play on stage, no matter which competition they take. Based upon this idea, and thanks to the well-equipped automation system, PTNA enables to make mutually beneficial partnership with its counterparts.
